Community Poll Results: What Voters Are Saying Ahead of the May Primary

A community poll conducted by Insight 84 was distributed to 1,000 likely voters between March 30 and April 5 to better understand opinions on civic participation, political alignment, and the role of local government. The survey received 272 responses, representing a 27.2% response rate, and provides a meaningful snapshot of voter perspectives as we approach the May Primary.


The results show strong voter engagement and diverse viewpoints on key issues impacting our community.

Strong Intent to Vote in the May Primary

One of the most notable findings from the poll is the high level of voter participation expected in the upcoming election.

  • 90.91% said they will definitely vote

  • 4.55% said they will probably vote

  • 4.55% said they might or might not vote


These results indicate strong civic engagement among likely voters and suggest meaningful participation in the May Primary.



Political Alignment Reflects a Diverse Electorate

When asked which political party most aligns with their views, responses showed a relatively balanced distribution:

  • Republican: 36.36%

  • Democrat: 31.82%

  • Neither: 31.82%

The data suggests a significant portion of voters identify as independent or evaluate candidates based on issues rather than party affiliation alone.




Opinions on the Role of County Government in Education

Respondents expressed a range of views regarding the role county government should play in improving schools, including the use of tax dollars:

  • 45.45% prefer a limited role

  • 22.73% support a major role with increased funding

  • 22.73% prefer no additional role

  • 9.09% are unsure

These results demonstrate differing perspectives on education policy and the appropriate level of government involvement.
